We are currently recruiting an Intelligence Analyst on a 12-month contract.

To work as part of the investigation team to analyse information from disparate databases and produce evidential products for presentation at court

Although based in Kent Interviews for this position will be held in London.


  • To work as part of the investigation team to analyse information from disparate databases and produce evidential products for presentation at court
  • Work as part of the investigation team and analyse data to assist in focusing the investigation and identify opportunities to gather evidential material.
  • Prepare and deliver evidential standard presentations, including the simplification of complex data for presentation at court.
  • Inference building and analysis to identify intelligence gaps and opportunities for the tactical environment and contributing to the strategic requirement.
  • Identify evidential opportunities combined with charting to include: Sequence of Events, Network Charts, Commodity Flow Charts, Communications Patterns and Criminal Business Profile.
  • Review bulk data and conduct analysis and research to highlight intelligence gaps, criminal trends, relationships, disruption opportunities and further intelligence gathering opportunities in accordance with the National Intelligence model products and processes.
  • Mentor BITSU and Investigation Support Assistants in analytical practice.
  • Desirable:

  • Recognised Analytical or Assessment Qualifications such as NIAT, IPP, GIAT or relevant analytical/assessment or policy writing experience.
  • Microsoft Excel course.
  • Trained Ember user.
  • Intelligence Analyst trained (NIAT or equivalent).
  • Completed i2 Analyst Notebook course.
  • Essential

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of evidential and intelligence data and relevant aspects of legislation and compliance including DPA, Freedom of Information, MOPI and ECHR.
    Awareness of investigative tactics.
  • Good understanding of information management, intelligence applications including PNC, INI, ViSOR) and data integrity issues.
  • Understanding of relational databases, table structures and SQL query generation.
  • Information technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS packages.
  • Analytical/data interpretation skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Written/drafting skills.
  • Demonstrate communication skills regarding the simplification of complex data for Lead Officers, prosecuting agents and presentation at court.
  • Ability to extract and manipulate data.
  • Experience of working as part of a team, providing support to identify opportunities to gather evidence and intelligence in support of objectives.
  • Experience of gathering information, conducting analysis and presenting results.

  • SC enhanced security clearance is required.
