We’re pleased to announce we’ve recently been awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus badge. The UK Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy aims to make the UK a safer place to conduct business online and cyber essentials accreditation is one way organisations can protect themselves from common cyber threats.

Cyber Essentials Plus

At Peel Solutions we believe in practising what we preach. We offer training courses on cybercrime awareness so it is important for us to demonstrate our commitment to protecting our business, data and systems from the ever increasing threat of cybercrime.

Cybercrime is growing and businesses of all shapes and sizes are at risk of attack. In fact, one in four businesses has reported some form of cyber attack or breach of their IT security in the last year. There will undoubtedly be many more which have gone unreported.

Small and medium sized businesses often think they aren’t at risk because media coverage always focuses on large companies and organisations. However small businesses are equally vulnerable, sometimes more so as they may be seen as an easy target. Attacks can cost organisations thousands of pounds and cause disruption and inconvenience to businesses and their customers.  An attack can happen when you least expect it so taking steps to protect your IT systems and data should be a priority for any business.

There are two badges available on the government backed scheme, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. At Peel Solutions we have been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus, the highest level which can currently be gained. The badge demonstrates that we meet the government endorsed standard and that our systems have been tested by an external certifying body.

The accreditation is also mandatory for any organisation working on government contracts which involve handling personal information and providing certain ICT products and services.
